Sports Trophies and Awards

Not much has changed since the spoils of war were brought back to the camp of the victor. Today the sporting trophy is paraded at the end of a contest very often in the sporting arena itself.

Names are engraved and ribbons attached to display the victors’ colours. Football, Rugby, Tennis are perhaps the most popular sports with iconic trophies such as the Football Association new Challenge Cup of 1911, the Rugby League Challenge Cup of 1897 and the Lord Lonsdale Challenge Belt all made by Fattorini.

Today the list grows longer with recent commissions from the world of tennis, the Ladies new WTA World No. 1 Ranking trophy and the NatWest 20-20 Cricket Trophy.

Many other sporting awards are commissioned today for a great variety of sports including the less televisual ones such as bridge, chess and quizzes.
